Can one save dry root geraniums over winter for re-plant in Spring?

Supposedly you can. I tried this with very little success. I had better luck putting the plants in the garage in pots and watering them occasionally over the winter. If you want to do the dry root thing, you are supposed to hang them upside down someplace that doesn't get too cold - 40-50 degrees F is best. And you are supposed to soak the roots occasionally in water. Here is more info:
